Wayanaad Kerala

The holiday period is “uneasy at home” period for Ajay, so he plans a trip to Wayanad, Kerala. Me and Sarang are ready for some fun time…. The rare interested animal Prashant jumps in with full enthu… which is rare to see….

Here starts the Trip to Wayanad…

Ajay’s Accent, made the big time cut on planning for Bus from Bangalore to Wayanaad. The green paradise is around 280KM away from Bangalore.

The route is Bangalore -> Mysore -> Bandipur (the one towards Kerala) -> …. -> Wayanad..

As per plan, we started early morning at 5.. with obvious start up photos….. As its our (Ajay’s) own vehicle it was full of comfort, right from the beginning, the songs of our choice, with CJ (car jockey) Prashant. (Hardly seen) empty roads of Bangalore, full speed car, songs and friends…… chale chalooo on the Mysore road…..

With all the gup-shups, and of-course the Mysore road, pleasure to be on…

But just a while after, Prashant has to be either hungry or thirsty…so we had to fulfil his needs, and URGENT human needs are very frequent with Prashant, so with all the fun we went to a breakfast place, after Mysore till that time, me and sarang on last seat became nap buddies and had a lil nap….

DIRECT Waynad…

DAY 1

When we reached Wayanad, we had to search a lot for hotel, luckily we found “Chakkalakal hotel” which is decent and one can leave comfortably over there, we just dumped the stuff, went for lunch, lunch was good (forgot the place name)..

Then started for 30KM away, “Kurua deev” (Kuruva dwip, island )… well its not a big time island, but it’s a nice place.. the road to this place is “oh my god” u have to trek with car through jungle….

That was a fun ride, we scared Prashant and he really got scared too……

Once we reached to the island, it was fun, though we were late and couldn’t see the island, we surely had the Bamboo boat ride for free, then with compulsory photos.. Well that place is surely worth going..

We started back for chakkalakal hotel, and on the way, Sarang tirakla to ask for the route back for Sultan Bhateri he asked sultan Bakery.. and we were short of place to laugh…tiered gang reached Chakklakal hote, where after dinner Ajay wanted to walk, but thankfully it rained and the walk got cancelled… ;-).. thereafter me, Ajay and Prashant were dieing to sleep.. where as Sarang was busy as he was bound to be.. ;-).

I will give 8/10 to this place.

DAY2.

Planned to get up at IST 6.30 we got up at 8 AST (Ajay Standard time runs 1 and ½ hour late with respect to current time in world) then got ready at natures own pace ;-)..

But started off soon for another rainy day.. the targets were Phukkot lake, Chembra peak.

The Phukkot lake is a nice place, unlike other normal lakes, this one has fully natural boundary on other sides, clean entrance.. with halki halki barish ki Boondien we sat in the pedal boat for four with a promise that only me and sarang will pedal it…these lazy buggers killed us, then the Barbie doll Prashant who cant stand a bit in rain started crying lets go back lets go back… so with our own pace we finished boating in phukkot lake..Its really a nice place.. 8/10 again for this place..

On our way back, we went on Calicut highway.. in the foggy rainy day.. on a view point on high way…and oh my god.. what a view it was.. total cold..We could stand for a couple of minutes and we started back.

The next destination was Chembra peak.. unaware of what it really is, we started towards the destination.. Through Tea estates and ghats and ups and downs you will find the destination called chembra peak..We had to walk a bit to find a bunch of local guys (guide) who claim to know the trek on chembra peak which leads to “Heart shaped lake”.. we luckily found a guide and we started the trek with him..The trek is not very tough but its really exciting… u can see nice scenery from the top..But its not very short, we had to trek almost 4 km to reach the destination… on our way saw the remains of the body part of pray of Tigers (guide says).. As the “Heart shaped lake” is a natural source of water in jungle animals come here to quench their thirst..

We finally reached to see the lake..The most pleasing sight according to all of us..and there is more to trek after that..which is a jungle hill.., but we were short of time so we finished Heart shaped lake.. and started our journey back.. everyone was so happy.. total satisfaction.. no less than 10, 10/10 for this place a must visit place in Wayanad..

Calm and happy we went for one waterfall near by.. which is a good one but by the time we reached there it was almost dark..

We started back for our hotel (California).. to be prepared to leave back to Bangalore next morning..

There are other things to see in wayand, like Edacle caves which we couldn’t see as they were closed for maintainance.. but visitors can catch it.

Don’t forget to start ur day early in order to have a complete usage of day.

Enjoy….
